Food Tongs
I first made food tongs after collecting lots of thin hardwood pieces and I was looking for something to make them into.  I saw some salad and noodle tongs in some stores and decided I could make my own design and use some of these pieces of wood.  The result is the food tongs you see on this site.  My teenage son, James, liked the simplicity of the design and wanted to try making some of them.  After a few tries, he had developed his own processes to make them and now makes all of the food tongs.  I still give him lots of advice and evaluate his work so he can continuously improve the product.

These food tongs are made of various hardwoods from worldwide sources.  The tongs are glued with waterproof glue.  They are finished with food grade mineral oil and can be refinished as necessary with more mineral oil that can be purchased in any pharmacy.  For longest life, please do not soak the tongs in water since they are wood and may swell.  They may be wiped clean with soap and water on a washcloth and towel dried to preserve the original beauty.

If you don't see a food tongs that you like in our store, take a look at the Sold Items Gallery and if there is one you like there, send us an email and we will make a similar one just for you.  If you like to have more than one type of wood on your tongs, we will be happy to accommodate your request with two different woods.
